Battery charger

A battery charger is provided to recharge the PTC's
nickel-cadmium battery pack.
It connects to the PTC-960X through
the built-in charger connector on the
PTC's left side.
The nickel-cadmium battery pack
can also be recharged by placing the
PTC-960X in an optional commun-
ication cradle. See the manual pro-
vided with the SC-960X or MC-960X
communication cradle for instructions.

Battery compartment

The PTC-960X is powered by a rechargeable
nickel-cadmium battery pack installed inside the
PTC's handle. The battery pack and the PTC's
handle end cap are a single unit.

Communication contacts

The row of metal contacts on the bottom edge of
the PTC's nose connects the PTC to an optional
SC-960X or MC-960X communication cradle. See
the manual for the communication cradle for
further information.

Display

The display screen on the front of the PTC above
the keyboard shows the information you type
or scan into the PTC as well as messages and
instructions from the PTC or the host computer.
