Disposing of nickel-cadmium batteries

Nickel-cadmium batteries contain chemically
active materials that are hazardous to the
environment; therefore, they must be disposed
of properly. Never attempt to incinerate a nickel-
cadmium battery; doing so could cause it to
explode. Telxon urges you to contact the Environ-
mental Protection Agency, the Department of
Natural Resources, a local hazardous waste dis-
posal agency, or the Telxon Customer Support
Center for assistance prior to disposing of your
nickel-cadmium batteries.
