7.2.1

Outline

• 4 units of the printer head are used for exposure process.
• The surface of the photo conductor is irradiated with a laser light and an electrostatic
latent image is thereby formed.
• The polygon mirror, which has only four faces, uses two-beam array LD to inhibit its rota-
tion speed from increasing due to the fewer number of faces.
• The two-beam array LD consists of two LD elements arranged vertically. Two lines are
scanned with two laser beams emitted from these two LD elements through a single face
of the polygon mirror.
