23.4 Authentication unit (Biometric type) (AU-101)

• A finger vein pattern is used for personal identification.
• Vein patterns are inside the body and cannot be visually recognized. This makes vein
patterns extremely difficult to forge or falsify. The vein pattern authentication system can
provide high security.
• In the authentication system, image data of the vein pattern inside a finger is created with
ultra red LED radiation and the data is registered. The vein pattern data is used to iden-
tify the person at the next authentication.

23.5 Authentication unit (IC card type: AU-201)

• A non-contact IC card, such as an employee ID card, is used for personal identification.
• This unit supports communication protocols that are based on ISO14443 Type A and Fel-
ica (Trademark of Sony Corporation) standards.
• Simply placing the IC card on the authentication unit will let the unit read the data from
the card.
