ISOLATE THE SYSTEM ELECTRICALLY PRIOR TO INSTALLATION OF THIS KIT
The installation of this kit requires the replacement of the vane bearings and the fitting of corner
drives and a vane drive motor.
Fit it to the fascia after removing the fascia from the unit and placing
it on a clean surface.

FITTING THE BEARINGS AND DRIVES TO THE FASCIA

1. Removing the fascia (if fitted)
a. Release the two latches on the grille and remove from the fascia
complete with the filter.
b. Remove the fascia by releasing the four retaining screws and unclipping
from the chassis.
2. Lay the fascia down on a clean surface, bearings uppermost.
3. Release the vanes from the fascia by pushing up from underneath each
vane, next to the bearing, both vane bearings at the same time. (Fig. 1).
4. Remove and discard the grey bearings.
5. Slide 2 white bearings onto each vane and clip the vanes into place by pushing
firmly downwards on the white bearings.
6.Note the position of the yoke/arm assembly relative to the Marstair badge (Fig. 2).
Set the vanes vertically and insert each end of the yoke/arm assembly into the
bearings, keeping the yoke 45° from the vertical (Fig. 3).
Repeat with the 3 yoke assemblies; when correctly assembled, all vanes are
vertical and all yokes are at 45°.
Check that the vanes move freely and together, and, when one is vertical, they
are all vertical.

REMOVING THE MOULDED CHASSIS

In order to fit the vane motor, it is necessary to remove the external
electrics cover and the moulded chassis.
1. Prior to removing the chassis, any condensate in the drain tray must be
removed.
Draining units with a pump fitted:-
a Using a 6mm Allen key, or a medium-sized flat bladed
screwdriver, remove the blanking plug and collect the
condensate in a suitable container.
b Refit the plug, ensuring a good seal.
Draining units with a gravity drain:-
a Disconnect the service drain from the unit collecting the
condensate in a suitable container.
b Remove the drain stub from the chassis; refit on completion of
unit installation.
