Using the News Function of WIRES-X

When using WIRES-X in digital mode, you can transmit and receive messages (text
data) and images; you can also record/play audio messages.

Viewing messages

You can read messages (text data) that are transmitted/received by either a local node,
or a node or room on the Internet, from the FT1DR/DE transceiver.
Caution
To read messages, insert a microSD card into the FT1DR/DE in advance. For details, refer to "Using
a microSD memory card" in the basic operating manual.

Viewing text data in a local node

Press and hold H for 1 second or more
The menu list of the local node will appear.

Rotate O to select [LOCAL NEWS]

Press H
[Waiting] will be displayed.
If data reception is successful, a list of available sources
at the local node will appear.

Select one, then press H
[Waiting] will be displayed.
If data reception is successful, menu options for the local
node will appear.

Press H
The upload/download select screen will appear.

Rotate O to select [DOWNLOAD]

Press H
The data type select screen will appear.
