The Custom Strip enables you to create your own icon strip by choosing a command for each
icon and drawing icons on the strip . This icon strip works with both Windows and Macintosh
computers.
The Tool Strip provides an alternative to the SMART Pen Tray, making a wide range of touch,
display and annotation functionality accessible from the SBPD frame area. This icon strip
works with both Windows and Macintosh computers.
If you decide to use an icon strip, you'll need to first make sure the strip is facing frontward and
then perform the appropriate setup procedures. Setup instructions for the Display Control Strip
and Custom Strip are provided on pages 22–24. Instructions for setting up the Tool Strip are
included in Appendix A found on pages 26–29.

Supplied Software

SMART Board Software includes all the programs and tools you'll need to configure and use
your SBPD. For more information about how to use the programs and tools included in SMART
Board Software, refer to the SMART Board User's Guide or the extensive online Help that
accompanies each program.

About this Guide

This guide describes how to install the SBPD. It doesn't include information about using the
SBPD. For information about using the SBPD, refer to the SMART Board User's Guide or the
extensive online help that comes with each program.
This guide is for both Windows and Macintosh users of the SBPD. Almost all of the procedures
and descriptions in this guide apply to either system. However, information that applies solely
to Windows users is accompanied by a Win icon in the margin, and information relating only to
Macintosh users is distinguished by a similarly placed Mac icon. Procedures common to both
Windows and Macintosh are described in terms of Windows conventions.
