Configuring the Icon Strips
The SBPD comes with a Display Control Strip, Custom Strip and Tool Strip. This section of
the guide explains how to configure the Display Control Strip and the Custom Strip. For
information about how to set up the Tool Strip, refer to Appendix A on pages 26–29.
Configuring the Display Control Strip
Win
The Display Control Strip is an optional icon strip that enables you to turn your plasma panel
on and off, select a different input source (e.g., your computer or, if connected, a VCR or
DVD player), select a different screen width, and access the Panel Control menu. During
manufacturing, the Display Control Strip is installed facing frontward. The Display Control
Strip is currently only available for Windows users.
The table below summarizes the function provided by each icon in the Display Control Strip.

To make use of the Display Control Strip, you must:
1. Connect the plasma display to a serial port on your computer (pages 20).
2. Configure On-Screen Display Controls for the plasma display (pages 20–21).
3. Map the position of the Display Control Strip (page 23).

To produce this result:
Put the plasma display into sleep/standby mode
Toggle among the various input modes available
with your setup (e.g., PC, video or DVD)

available with your plasma display
Access a menu of audio and video controls for your
plasma display
