Relationship between propulsive force and electrical assistance
• The assist level you have selected
In the HIGH assist mode, the power delivered
by the motor is double your own effort (1:2), but
this also uses the most energy. If you ride in the
medium mode, the motor produces slightly less
power. It matches your own effort (1:1). If you have
selected LOW, you receive the least amount of as-
sistance but have the battery's maximum range at
your disposal. The power delivered by the motor is
half your own effort (1:0.5).
• The speed at which you are currently travelling
When you set off on your Pedelec, the assistance
increases as you build up speed until your bike
reaches its maximum speed of roughly 22 km/h.
The assistance then reduces automatically and
switches off at roughly 25 km/h. This applies for
the highest gear only. In all other gears, the motor
switches off earlier, depending on the gear ratio.
Depending on the power-assist mode you are rid-
ing in, the transition between riding with and with-
out power assist may seem more or less abrupt.
The assistance cuts out at roughly 25 km/h. This
may feel like the motor is braking but that is not
the case: the motor has simply switched off the
assistance. This does not affect how the bike rides.
Above 25 km/h the bike is just as "easy" to ride as
a normal bicycle (apart from the higher weight).

Power-assist mode

You can choose between three different power-assist
modes: the highest mode, HIGH, the medium and the low-
est mode (LOW) (➠ Chapter 3.1.3 "Power-assist mode").
In the HIGH and medium power-assist modes, the as-
sistance works with a high and medium level of effort,
respectively. Of course, the range is reduced as a conse-
quence.
The LOW mode provides you with harmonic, gentle
assistance and a long range. It is advisable for beginners
or inexperienced riders to start with this mode.
In the NO ASSIST mode, the motor provides no assistance.

Range

The distance you can travel using the power assist with
the battery fully charged depends on several factors:
• Assist level selected
Also switch to a low assist level (LOW).
• Gear selected
If you want to cover a long distance with power
assist, select the lower gears, i.e. the ones that
are easier to pedal. If you are riding in gears that
are harder to pedal and select a high assist level,
the motor will produce plenty of power to help you
along. However, just as with driving a car at high
speed, this leads to higher consumption. You will
therefore have to recharge the battery sooner. You
can conserve energy by keeping the load on the
pedals even throughout the entire crank revolution.
