FUEL ECONOMY

Motorcycle condition, riding habits and external
conditions affect fuel consumption.
The proper care of your motorcycle during the first
kilometers of usage also contribute to improve fuel
economy.
Motorcycle Condition
Maximum fuel economy can be achieved if the
motorcycle is in perfect use condition and when good
quality fuel is used.
Use only Honda genuine parts for replacement and
perform all maintenance services according to the
specified intervals, specially carburetor adjustment
and exhaust system inspection.
Check the tire wear and pressure frequently. Worn tires
and improper tire pressure will increase fuel
consumption.
Riding Habits
Fuel economy will be improved when riding the
motorcycle in a moderate way. Rapid acceleration,
rough maneuvers and sudden braking will increase fuel
consumption.
Always use the proper gear and accelerate smoothly.
Try to ride the motorcycle at constant speed,
whenever traffic conditions allow.
External Conditions
Fuel consumption will decrease when riding under ideal
external conditions, such as on leveled and well-
structured roads, at sea level, without a passenger
and load, with a moderate temperature, and when
wearing an adequate helmet and riding gears of proper
size.
Fuel consumption is always higher with the engine
cold. However, it is not necessary to keep the engine
at idle for a long period for warm-up. You can ride the
motorcycle approximately one minute after starting the
engine, regardless the outside air temperature.
Engine warm-up will be faster and fuel economy will be
improved.
