Trouble symptom
The pinion gear meshes, but
the starting motor does not
rotate. (continued)
The starting motor does not rotate
and the engine cannot start.

Causes
The battery voltage is too low
(faulty charging).
Internal engine failure.
The control lever is not in the
NEUTRAL position.
Starter Interlock
Emergency stop switch is
pressed.
Crank speed sensor detects
overspeed (P0219).
Camshaft speed sensor
detects overspeed (P0219).
A disconnect and / or
short-circuit error (P0335
and P0340) of both speed
sensors are detected.
A disconnect and / or
short-circuit error (P1210) of
a rack actuator is detected.
A rack movement error
(P1211) is detected.
A battery cable is not
connected.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Corrective action
Check the wiring between
the alternator and the
battery.
Check the V-belt tension.
Check the alternator.
Disassemble and inspect.
Repair or replace.
Shift the lever to NEUTRAL
position.
Turn off the emergency stop. See Remote Control
Connect the cables.
