Working Safely

Attention!
Access to or changes on the device, except where expressly described in this operating
manual, is not authorised.
Safety regulations
Observe the locally applicable legal regulations and the rules of the employer's liability insur-
ance association.
Qualified personnel
Mounting, commissioning and maintenance of the device must only be carried out by qual-
ified personnel.
Electrical work must be carried out by a certified electrician.
Attention Laser Radiation!
WARNING: The barcode reader BCL 21/22 operates with a red light laser of class 2
acc. to EN 60825-1 (2003/10). If you look into the beam path over a longer time period,
the retina of your eye may be damaged!
Never look directly into the beam path!
Do not point the laser beam of the BCL 21/22 at persons!
When mounting and aligning the BCL 21/22, take care to avoid reflections of the laser
beam off reflective surfaces!
Heed the laser safety regulations according to DIN EN 60825-1 in their most current
version! The output power of the laser beam at the reading window is at most 1.3mW
acc. to (DIN) EN 60825-1 (2003/10).
The BCL 21/22 uses a laser diode with low power in the visible red light range with an
emitted wavelength of 650 ... 690nm.
CAUTION - the use of operating and adjusting devices other than those specified here
or carrying out of differing procedures may lead to dangerous exposure to radiation!
