he Rice Lake Digital Health Scale is a lightweight, easy to use scale. It is accurate, sturdy and safe for use for all home
based patients or individual use.
This manual can be viewed and downloaded from the Rice Lake Weighing Systems web site at
www.ricelake.com/health. Rice Lake Weighing Systems is an ISO 9001 registered company.
With the Rice Lake Digital Health Scale, there are certain precautions that should be taken to prevent personal injury to the
user and damage to your scale. Please follow these instructions carefully;
• Do not attempt to transport the scale while someone is standing on it.
• Do not drop the scale or subject it to violent shocks.
• For accurate weighing, the scale must be placed on a flat, stable surface.
• Weight exceeding the maximum capacity (440 lb/200 kg/32st:6lb) may damage your scale.
• This scale is designed for personal use only and not designed for commercial/industrial use.
• The scale is not waterproof so avoid contact with excessive moisture.
Scale Setup and Use
Use the following steps to set up the Rice Lake Digital Health Scale.
1. Remove the ready assembled scale out of its packaging.
2. Remove the red tab from the battery compartment before use.
3.
Choose pounds (lb), kilograms (kg) or stone pound (st-lb) using the selector switch located on the back of the scale.
4. Place the scale on a flat surface. Placing the scale on a soft, deep pile rug may affect the weighing accuracy.
5. Before each weighing, tap on the lower corner of the scale to turn scale on. The scale will display - - - - , then 0.0.
Do not step on the scale before 0.0 appears, otherwise EE will be displayed.
6. Step on the scale and position your feet in a manner that will distribute your weight evenly over the entire scale
platform. The LCD display will flash - - - - several times for approximately three seconds before displaying the
weight. Stand still while reading the display.
