Chapter 3 — The Video Playback Controller
PLAYLIST Button – Click to bring up the Playlist window. Playlist
allows the user to create, modify and/or play back a list of MPEG files.
See ("Using Playlist," page 147). Playlist files have a ".vpl" extension.
PLAY Button – This button starts playback of the file name in the File-
name window. If no file is selected, a dialog box will appear prompting
the user to select an MPEG file. If the name in the Filename window is
"Playlist," the file names and parameters are retrieved from the playlist for
consecutive playback.
STOP Button – Clicking on the button will stop the current playback of
either a single MPEG file or an entire playlist.
PAUSE Button – Clicking on the button will pause the current play-
back and disable all other control buttons. The user can click again on the
button to resume normal playback.
FAST-FORWARD Button – Clicking on the button will begin fast-
forward playback and disable all other control buttons. Click again to
resume normal playback.
SLOW-MOTION Button – Clicking on the button will begin slow-
motion playback and disable all other control buttons. Click again to
resume normal playback.
FRAME ADVANCE Button – Clicking on the button will advance play
by one video frame. Click again to resume normal playback.
MUTE/UNMUTE Button – Clicking on the button will mute or restore
the audio portion of the playback .
SETUP Button – Click to bring up tabbed individual setup parameter
windows covering audio, video, cueing, error mask, firmware upgrade,
and clip playback. See Figure 3-7.
