• A soldering iron. • A standard 19-inch rack wired and configured with equipment to be controlled by the VIPET (e.g. DSP Router), cabling for power supply, wiring for signal monitoring, RS232 and RS485 cabling and/or other cabling as appropriate. - Page 8 It must only be set to ground-lift position if a +ve ground battery supply is used. Fit the VIPET unit to a 19-inch standard equipment rack on supporting rails, and secure the unit in position using the fixing screws. M6 PAN HEAD POZIDRIV SCREW...
- Page 9 Remove 3 screws at the bottom of the unit. These screws will be used to fix the unit to the shelf. The shelf which is supplied for mounting the VIPET-SERIAL-4 interface supports two units. The screws to be removed depend on the unit’s position on the shelf.
- Page 10 VIPET-RS485-4 If using the BOB04 or BOB08, install the unit and connect the unit as described in the VIPET-AUDIO- 4/8 & BOB04/08 Product Manual. Connect the wiring for control ports, signal monitoring, RS485, and RS232 cabling to the rear panel connectors according to the application.
- Page 11 The mains powered VIPET requires a mains filter for EMC compliance, and for protection against voltage surges. The VIPET mains filter needs to be ordered as part of the VIPET system, as ASL item VIPET- MAINS-FILTER, and should be installed as shown in Figure 3.

VIPET - Hardware Installation and Maintenance Guide Maintenance The VIPET HW should be tested with the PA/VA system for correct operation, at maximum intervals of three months and as part of the system maintenance schedule. For reference Figure 4 shows the VIPET internal components and possible settings. - Page 19 To replace the battery: Please read and observe the “7 Safety and Precautions” section of this manual. If the VIPET is still powered up, shut it down by briefly pressing the POWER button (< 1 second) on the rear panel.
