Pause the recording

4. Adjust the recording level
1 Play the source to be recorded.
2 Set to recording pause.
Always press the record (¶) key in
stopped condition, and then press
the pause (8) key.
3 Adjust the recording level.

5. Start recording.

2 Play the music source to be recorded.
6. Remove the minidisc after the end of recording.
Always remove the minidisc after recording.
"DISC WRITING" displayed during the minidisc ejection operation indicates that the
data associated with recording or editing is being written on the disc. Do not apply
vibration or shock to the unit while this message is displayed.
In regard to display messages
Recording is not possible when one of the following
messages is displayed.
"DISC FULL"
: The minidisc is full.
\ Erase unrequired tracks.
"PROTECTED"
: The write protect tab is open.
\ Close it.
"UNRECORDABLE" : The minidisc is only for playback.
\ Insert a recordable disc.
Sampling Frequencies
Normally the following three types of digital signals are
used and they are called sampling frequencies.
48 kHz
44.1 kHz
32 kHz
As this unit has a built-in sampling rate converter, digital
signals of 32 kHz and 48 kHz are converted to 44.1 kHz for
recording.
(only analog recording)
÷ Adjustment is possible in the range from -∞ dB
to 0 dB (81steps).
÷ Adjust so that 0 dB lights only once in a while.
÷ Lower the level when the red part of the level
meter lights.
÷ During recording, the EJECT (0) key will not be
accepted.
÷ To start recording simultaneously with CD play-
back, please read "Tips for recording from a
CD".
