2.14 - THERMAL GLAZING

"Thermal Glazing" are special oven glass panes which undergo a special treatment on one side of
the pane.
This treatment allows the glass to provide improved heat insulation (higher temperature reduction
on the external side of the door).
When assembling the glass on the oven door, you must make sure that the treated glass pane is
positioned facing the oven interior.
If the glass pane is positioned the other way around, the efficiency of the thermal insulation is
drastically reduced.
To recognise the side which has been treated on glazing without silk-screen printing, measure the
resistance, since the thermal side is conductive.
RECOGNISING THE SIDE WITH THERMAL TREATMENT

Using an ohmmeter,
measurethe side without the
thermal treatment and the
resistance should read infinite.

Using an ohmmeter, measure
the side with the heat
treatment and the resistance
should read approximately
200 ohm. (non silk-screen
printed side)
