Power Savings Menu Options

Options for the Power Savings menu are described in Table 3-15. Default settings for most options in this
menu differ depending on the setting selected for the Power Savings BIOS option. (Refer to Chapter 7 of
this manual for more information on power management.)
Windows 98 and Windows 2000 users: Windows 98/2000 can be configured to use ACPI. (APM is
enabled as the factory setting.) Systems with ACPI enabled will not use power management settings
configured in BIOS Setup. To configure power management settings in Windows 98 or Windows 2000,

Power savings options should be set to the most conservative
values possible for your application; doing so extends battery
life and lowers internal temperatures of the pen tablet.
Description
When [Enabled] is selected, the hard disk is locked
with the password. Data in the locked disk cannot be
read on any system other than the original system on
which it was locked, or on systems with identical
password settings.
If the Supervisor Password has not yet been set, this
item is grayed, and cannot be selected or changed.
When [Disabled] is selected, this feature is disabled.
Description
Display only. Depending upon the current setting of
the owner information, either [Clear] or [Set] is
displayed.
Press the <Enter> key or select [Enter] to set owner
information.
If the Supervisor Password has not yet been set, this
item is grayed, and cannot be selected or changed.
The owner information is always displayed on the
bottom line of the screen during POST.
