The industrial printer comes with Windows drivers that allow
the use of graphics and a virtually unlimited number of True
Type Fonts. Unlike printing with ASCII text: a non-GUI
operating system that is normally associated with operating
systems like DOS / Unix / Linux, where the printer draws on
the internal fonts, Windows downloads a representation of the
fonts for the printer to make use of.
Driver Information for DOS / Unix / Linux or Windows
3.0, 3.1 & 3.11
Most software packages allow you to select or setup a printer
driver. Use one of the following printer drivers.
Generic Printer
DOS Text Printer
Typewriter
Teletype
TTYCRLF Printer
TTYCR Printer (This requires the Setup Menu
CR = CR + LF option to be turned on)
If none of these choices are available one of the following may
work:
HP Laserjet Series II or any Laserjet II listed
(excluding Postscript)
HP Laserjet 4
Note: When using DOS set the MODE COMMAND!!!
Type the MODE command at the DOS prompt or add the
MODE command to the AUTOEXEC.BAT file. The
AUTOEXEC.BAT will load the command when the computer
is first booted up.
Example:
When printing to the parallel port load MODE
LPT1:,,P
When printing to the serial port load MODE
COM1:9600,N,8,1,P
Note: The parameter settings may vary from the
preceding examples. For DOS version 5.0 or later, a
,,B may be substituted for the ,,P)
