Problem
Cause
Insuffi cient
• Nozzle too small
material output
• Material pressure too low
• Material viscosity too high
• Filter in material supply
clogged
• Nozzle is clogged
• Union screw is screwed in
too far.
Poor spray
• Wrongly adjusted atomizing
pattern
air and / or fan air
• Nozzle too large
• Material viscosity too high
• Material pressure too high
• Damaged nozzle
• Damaged electrode
Leaking air valve • Damaged seals on the valve
rod
• Sealing screw loose
Poor wrap round
• Poor earthing at object
or electrostatic
effect
• Paint resistance too high /
to low
• Spraying pressure too high
Back spraying
• Object not earthed
• Distance between spray gun
and work piece too large

Solution
• Select larger nozzle (see chapter
9.1)
• Increase material pressure
• Thin material in accordance with
the manufacturers instructions
• Clean or replace fi lter
• Clean or replace nozzle
• Turn union screw anticlockwise
• Readjust the atomizing air or fan
air
• Select smaller nozzle (see chapter
9.1)
• Thin material acc. to manufacturers
instruction.
• Reduce material pressure
• Replace nozzle
• See chapter 8.4 for repairs
• Exchange seals (see chapter 8.3)
• Tighten sealing screw
• Check earthing of object or
hanger with ohmmeter
• Check resistance of paint in
accordance with paragraph 4.1.1
• Adjust spraying pressure
• Check earthing
• Reduce distance between spray
gun and work piece
