For continued product safety and protection
of personnel injury, servicing should be made
with qualified personnel.
Risk of electric shock
Assembly power, Assembly PFC, Assembly lamp ballast and
Assembly lamp are "HOT" .
The signal circuit and control circuit of this projector are insulat-
ed (COLD) from AC line by the insulation transformer inside the
projector. But, assembly power, assembly PFC, assembly lamp
ballast and assembly lamp are not insulated from AC line, and
those are "HOT."
HOT CIRCUIT IS IDENTIFIED WITH THE LINE (
IN THE SCHEMATIC DIAGRAM. An insulation transformer
should be connected in the power line between the projector and
the AC line before the service of hot circuit is performed on the
projector.
Laser Beam
As the laser beam used in this Laser Pointer is harmful to the
eyes, do not attempt to disassemble the Remote Control unit.
NOTE;

Cooling Fan
Observance :
Attachment direction
The attachment direction of the cooling fan is the important mat-
ter for maintaining the safety of a product. If the attachment
direction is mistaken, it will become the cause which the inside of
the projector is unusually overheated and a fire or parts damage.
Safety significant parts
Observance :
Designated part
Product safety should be considered when a component replace-
ment is made in any area of the projector. Components indicated
by mark (
) in the parts list and the schematic diagram desig-
nate components in which safety can be of special significance. It
is, therefore, particularly recommended that the replacement of
the parts must be made by exactly the same parts.

Light source lamp
Caution : UV and Strong light
Don't view directly the light emitted from the lamp of this pro-
jector. The emitted light is very strong and the ultraviolet ray is
also included. Protect the eyes and the skin from the ultraviolet
ray and strong light in the case of the disassembly repair.
Caution : High voltage
When the lamp is turned on, the high voltage (20Kv~25Kv) is
impressed to electrode of the lamp. Be careful not to receive an
electric shock during disassembling the projector for the repair.
Caution : Hot circuit
The lamp of this projector is not insulated from AC line and it is
hot. Be careful not to receive an electric shock during disassem-
bling the projector for the repair. (Refer to the protections on
page-4.)
Caution : High temperature
The lamp is very high temperature during the lamp lighting. The
)
hot state continues for the time being after turning off the lamp.
Be careful not to receive the scald during disassembling the pro-
jector for the repair. When you replace the lamp, turn off and
leave the projector for a while. (Cooling of natural convection)
Caution : B
URST
The useful life of the lamp passes when the LAMP REPLACE
indicator lights yellow. Replace the lamp promptly if the useful
life of the lamp has passed. Failure to observe this caution may
cause bursting of the lamp.
Caution : Mercury gas
Mercury is contained inside the light bulb of the lamp. If the lamp
should burst, open a window and a door and ventilate the room.
Caution : Don't disassemble.
The lamp assembly is safety significant part, don't attempt to dis-
assemble the lamp assembly.
* Reliability may be spoiled. ( Dielectric strength / Thermal sta-
bility)
* Light bulb may be damaged.
Other
Observance :
Obstacle
Don't put an obstacle near the air intake or exhaust vent of the
projector in the case of repair. Air blown from an exhaust vent is
hot. If a spray can and metal tools are placed near an exhaust
vent, those are overheated and dangerous. And, if the air intake
or exhaust vent are blocked, the inside of the projector is over-
heated and dangerous.
Observance :
Cation label
Comply with all caution and safety-related notes provided on the
cabinet back, cabinet bottom, inside the cabinet or on the chassis.
Observance :
After disassembly repair
When replacing a chassis in the cabinet, always be certain that all
the protective devices are installed properly, such as control
knobs, adjustment covers or shields, barriers, etc. Do not operate
this projector without the protective shield in position and prop-
erly secured. Before replacing the cabinet cover, thoroughly
inspect the inside of the cabinet to see that no stray parts or tools
have been left inside.
