Before getting on your power chair:
Check to be certain that the power is turned off. This will eliminate the possibility
of accidentally activating the paddle controls and causing injury to yourself or to
others;
Check to be certain that your power chairs brake handle is in the engaged
position;
Flip up the armrests;
Flip up the footplate.
Getting on your power chair:
Position the seat for safe and easy mounting;
Flip down the footplate;
Flip down or replace the armrests;
Fasten the seatbelt, if your power chair is so equipped.
Getting off your power chair:
Make certain that the power is turned off and the key is removed;
Unfasten the seat belt if your chair is equipped with one;
Flip up the armrests;
Flip up the footplate;
Carefully stand and step away from the chair.

4.3 Freewheel mode

To disengage the brakes and put your power chair in the freewheel mode, push
the freewheel levers down, see picture 2;
To engage the brakes and put your power chair in the drive mode, pull the
freewheel levers up, see picture 3.
