WHAT TO DO IF YOU SMELL GAS
• Open windows/extinguish any open
flame.
• Do not try to light any appliance.
• Do not touch any electrical switch or
use any phone in your building.
• Immediately call your gas supplier
from a neighbour's phone. Follow the
gas supplier's instructions.
• If you cannot reach your gas supplier,

Massachusetts installations (Warning): This product must be installed by a licensed
plumber or gas fitter when installed within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Other Massachusetts code requirements: Flexible connector must not be longer than
36in., a shut off valve must be installed; only direct vent sealed combustion products
are approved for bedrooms/bathrooms. A carbon monoxide detector is required in all
rooms containing gas fired direct vent appliances.

I’m the owner, not the installer. I need a simple, easy to read, diagram of the controls including the of//on toggle, the next knob (?), the flame height knob, and the **** speed knob. What is that second knob for? Yes, the installer told me, but I don’t remember it all, and once he’s out the door, I need a simple document written for the owner!!!

The function of the second knob on the Enviro Westport controls is to adjust the flame height.

    Operating Instructions ILOT IGHT 1. Turn off the gas to the fireplace. If not recently done, remove the glass and let the unit air out for at least five (5) minutes to clear out any gas. Turn on gas to the heater. Leak test all joints with soapy water.

If either of these are to be used to control the fireplace for the majority of the time, leave the ON/OFF switch (on the control panel) in the remote/thermostat position.

    Maintenance And Service OUTINE AINTENANCE At least once a year, run through the following procedures to ensure the system is clean and working properly. Check the burner to see if all the ports are clear and clean. Check the pilot to make sure it is not blocked by anything.

    Maintenance And Service EPLACING THE LASS The glass in the fireplace is a high temperature ceramic. If the glass is damaged in any way, a factory replacement is required (see P ). Wear gloves when handling damaged glass door ARTS OMPONENTS assembly to prevent personal injury.

Warning: This conversion kit shall be installed by a qualified service agency in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and all applicable codes and requirements of the authority having jurisdiction.

REPARATION NSTALLATION • Remove the packaging from the appliance, and check to make sure there is no damage. If damage is found, please report it to both the carrier and your dealer as soon as possible.

Apply a bead of Mill-Pac Black sealant to the top section of the Ø4” (10 cm) by 5” Horizontal Vent Termination (12.5 cm) flue collar adaptor previously installed into the fireplace flue outlet. Slide the Ø4” (10 cm) flex vent over the flue collar and secure with three (3) sheet metal screws evenly spaced.

    Initial Installation QUALIFIED INSTALLERS ONLY ORIZONTAL NSTALLATION 1. Set the appliance in the desired location. Check to determine if wall studs or roof rafters are in the way when the venting system is attached. If this is the case, you may want to adjust the location of the appliance.

Check the instructions for required clearances (air spaces) to combustibles when passing through ceilings, walls, roofs, enclosures, attic rafters, or other nearby combustible surfaces. Do not pack air spaces with insulation. 2. Set the gas appliance in the desired location. Drop a plumb bob down from the ceiling to the position of the appliance flue exit, and mark the location where the vent will penetrate the ceiling.

We strongly recommend installing an approved chimney liner in an existing brick chimney. This will maximize the potential draft of the chimney and lessen the effects of slow chimney start-up.
