Motorrad front wheel stand.

Remove axle clamping
z
screw 4.
Remove quick-release
axle 5, holding wheel as you
do so.
BMW Motorrad offers
an adapter for remov-
ing the quick-release axle.
This adapter can be com-
bined with a commercially
available 22 mm open-end or
ring wrench. The adapter with
the BMW special tool num-
ber 36 3 691 can be obtained
from your authorized BMW
Motorrad retailer.
Place the front wheel in the
front wheel guide on the
ground.
Roll front wheel forward to
remove.
Remove spacer bushing 6
from front wheel hub.

Installing front wheel

Threaded fasteners not
tightened to the speci-
fied torque can work loose or
their threads can suffer dam-
age.
Always have the tightening
torques checked by a spe-
cialized workshop, preferably
an authorized BMW Motorrad
retailer.
During the following
work, parts of the front
brake, in particular of the
BMW Integral ABS, can be
damaged.
Take care not to damage the
brake system, in particular the
ABS sensor with cable and
the ABS sensor ring.
The front wheel must be
installed right way round
to rotate in the correct direc-
tion.
Observe the direction of rota-
tion arrows on the tires or on
the rim.
When installing the wheel,
make sure not to damage
