Close the latches on both systems.

Open the ROM Cover in the Slave System and set the Master/Slave Switch on the CPU Card
to "Slave" position.

Turn the power on.
Note
• System Connection may take a while (5 to 15 min depending on your software version) to
be completed after the power is turned on. Confirm the connection between the Systems by
making a call from a Master System extension to a Slave System extension.
• To turn the power on for the first time, refer to Section 2.7.1 Starting the System for the
First Time.
• The master and slave must have the same version software. Otherwise, System Connection
will not work properly.
