10.4 User calibration of over temperature
The controller uses dual point calibration at two temperatures for more accurate
temperature control. The calibration parameters are Offset low and Offset High.
Recommended settings for the two points are 800°C and 1400°C, but these are
adjustable. Positive or negative offsets may be used, determined by calibration of the
thermocouple and controller.
Thermocouple calibration
The thermocouple must be removed from the MRF 16/22 and calibrated by comparison
using a calibrated heat source.
Controller calibration
The controller and thermocouple connection cables must be calibrated by injecting milli-
volts down the thermocouple cables into the controller from a calibrated source.
To enter dual calibration points and offsets to the controller [See navigation diagram 11.2]
First access the calibration page. From the homes display:
Press page
twice to get to iP.
Press scroll
then up
If the correct password is entered, the display shows 'Pass'.
Press scroll
to get to CAL, then up
Press scroll
to get to Pnt.L then up
Press scroll
to get to OFS.L then up
Press scroll
to get to Pnt.H then up
