Group 21 Engine
Cylinder head, removal

Disconnect from cylinder head:
-wire for temperature gauge sender
-wire for glow plugs
copper connecting strip for rear glow plug
- feturn hose from rear iniector
- wire for temperature gauge sender at rear of cylinder

Remove:
-timing gear covers (front + read
D l 1
Tum engine until cyl. 1 is at TDC - injection
A l w a y s u s e i h e v i b r a t i o n d a m p e r c e n t e r b o l t t o t u r n t h e
27 mm socket or wrench 5148.
B o t h c y l i n d e r ' l c a m s s h o u l d p o i n t o b l i q u e l y u p w a r d s .
F l y w h e e l a t ' 0 ' m a r k .

Remove retaining screws from belt cover on
cylinder head
Take carelhat washer on innerscrewdoes nol falldown
into lower timing gear case cover.
(Late type engines do not have this washer).
