5. Hold the "log front left" (F3) with the narrower end
toward the right. Set the log on the inside left side of
the fettle and bring it forward until the right end of
the log comes through the opening in the fettle.
(Fig. 42) When in place, the left end of the log is
supported above the left sheet metal bracket.
6. Hold the "log right front" (F2) with the pointed end
toward the left. Set the log on the inside right side of
the fettle and bring forward. The pointed end of the
log should come in contact with the front left log.
When in place, the right end of the log is supported
above the sheet metal bracket toward the right.
7. Repeat Steps 5 & 6 for the opposite side of the
burner. NOTE: Left and right logs will still be
treated left/right as you face the unit.

Follow these measurements to properly position this
log. Identify "log top center" (F10). It is the log with
the hole in the middle. Hold the log with the nar-
rower end closest to you. Set the log on top of the
existing logs in the middle. Refer to Figure 44 for
proper distances from this log to the side refractory.
