Disconnect power before servicing.
Replace all parts and panels before operating.
Failure to do so can result in death or electrical shock.

MOTOR START CAPACITOR

Refer to page 4-7 for the procedure for ac-
cessing the motor start capacitor.
1.
Unplug washer or disconnect power.
2.
Discharge the capacitor by touching the
leads of a 20,000 Ω resistor to the two
terminals.

Disconnect the wires from the capacitor
terminals.
4.
Set the ohmmeter to the R x 1K scale.
5.
Touch the ohmmeter test leads to the mo-
tor start capacitor terminals. The meter
should quickly rise to indicate a low resis-
tance, and then gradually fall to indicate
a high resistance. To repeat the test, re-
verse the meter leads. The result should
be the same if the capacitor is good.
