6  Electrical Connection
6.5 Connecting the Inverter to the Network
Required material (not included in the scope of delivery):
• 1 plug for RJ45 socket according to IEC 61076-3-106, model 4 with push-pull lock
Recommendations:
– "STX V4 RJ45" plug set; manufacturer: Telegärtner
– "IE-PS-V04P-RJ45-FH" plug set; manufacturer: Weidmüller
• 1 network cable with the following properties:
– Type of cable: 100BaseTx, CAT5 with S-FTP or S-STP shielding
– Cross-section: at least 2x2x0.22 mm² or at least 2x2 AWG 24
– Maximum cable length: 100 m
– UV-resistant for outdoor use
1. Connect one end of the network cable to the plug (see documentation of plug).
2. Remove the filler-plug from the socket for

connecting the inverter to the network.

3. Connect the end of the network cable with the plug to the inverter. To do this, insert the plug
firmly into the socket on the inverter.
4. Connect the other end of the network cable to the network or to one of the other nodes.
Hint: You can only connect the inverter to the other nodes via star topology.
6.6 Connecting the Multi-Function Relay
6.6.1 Connection Options for the Multi-Function Relay
You can choose between three connection options:
• Using the multi-function relay as fault or operation signalling contact
• Controlling loads or charging batteries via the multi-function relay
• Reporting switching status of grid relay
