The syntax for the flashupdate command is:
flashupdate [-s IPaddr -f pathname] [-v]
where:
–s IPaddr is the IP address of an FTP server having the firmware image
-f pathname is the full directory path to the firmware image file
-v enables verbose output of the download and update progression
Note – flashupdate cannot retrieve flash images from a secure (user ID and
password) protected HTTP URL. A message of the form flashupdate: failed,
URL does not contain required file: file is returned, although the file
might exist.
Caution – Do not interrupt the flashupdate operation. If the flashupdate
command is terminated abnormally, the system controller goes into single-user
mode and is only accessible from the serial port.

To Update the Server Firmware

1. Power on the server.
2. Obtain the ALOM prompt.

3. Upgrade the firmware:
sc> flashupdate –s IPaddr –f pathname
For example, (replace
sc> flashupdate -s 123.45.67.89 -f
/net/server/sysfw/System_Firmware-6_0_0-Netra_T2000.bin
SC Alert: System poweron is disabled.
