Chapter 3
7. Trigger the DMM and send the result to the AFG:
CAL:AC:POINT?
The AFG will return, in order, the current calibration point and an error
code. Any non-zero error code indicates a problem.
8. Connect the power meter to the AFG Output as shown in Figure 3-2.
Repeat steps 9 through 11 until the AFG returns a current
calibration point of 0:
The AFG will usually perform two or more iterations on each calibration
point in order to reduce the error to ± 0.1dB.
9. Determine the expected frequency for the power meter as follows:
Frequency (Hz) = Current cal point × 1342177.28
When performing step 9 for the first time, use 1 for the current cal point.
Thereafter, use the cal point returned by the most recent
command.
10. Trigger the power meter, convert to peak volts, and multiply by the
correction factor calculated in step 5:
Raw Reading (Vpk) = √  2 × √   
Corrected Reading (Vpk) = Raw Reading (Vpk) × C.F. ( step 5)
11. Send the result of step 10 to the AFG:
CAL:AC:POINT?
The AFG will return, in order, the current calibration point and an error
code. Any non-zero error code indicates a problem. When the current
calibration point becomes 0, the calibration is completed.
