STARTING ENGINE WITH THE
IGNITION SWITCH
n Turn key to position 1.
Move the steering wheel slightly to
n
release the steering wheel lock.
Manual transmission: Operate
n
clutch;
n Automatic transmission: Operate
brake and move selector lever in P
or N;
Do not accelerate;
n
n Diesel engine: Turn the key to
position 2 for preheating until
control indicator goes out;
n Turn key to position 3 and release
when engine is running.
Before restarting or to switch off the
engine, turn key back to 0.

carries the key around with him;
