Electronic key reminder chime
The horn will sound three times contin-
uously to indicate that the electronic
key is inside the vehicle when you leave
the vehicle and close the door. The set-
ting of this function can be changed in
the Info-Display. When the electronic
key is very close to doors or window,
the vehicle might recognize that the
electronic key is inside the vehicle and
the horn might sound.
Restart without electronic key
When the electronic key is not inside the
vehicle while the engine is running, the
ignition mode will change to ACC (LED:
yellow) if you press the Start/Stop
button to stop the engine. (After 5 min-
utes without any input, the ignition will
be switched off automatically.) You can
restart the engine applying brake pedal
(automatic transmission) or clutch pedal
(manual transmission) and pressing the
Start/Stop button. This process can be
repeated continuously. If you press the
Start/Stop button without applying
brake or clutch pedal or it passes several
seconds in ACC mode, the engine will be
OFF (LED: off). And restarting is not
possible.
The electronic key will not work if
any of following occurs
n
When the vehicle is in the electro-
magnetic field of high frequency.
When an electric equipment using
n
same frequency with the electronic
key is being worked.
n
When the battery of the electronic
key is discharged or has a problem.
Parking
Do not park the vehicle on an easily
n
ignitable surface. The high tempera-
ture of the exhaust system could
ignite the surface.
n
Always apply parking brake with-
out pressing release button. Apply
as firmly as possible on downhill or
uphill slopes. Depress the footbrake
at the same time to reduce operating
force.
Driving and operating
n
Switch off the engine and ignition.
Turn the steering wheel until the
steering wheel lock engages.
If the vehicle is on a level surface or
n
uphill slope, engage first gear or set
the selector lever to P before switch-
ing off the ignition. On an uphill
slope, turn the front wheels away
from the kerb.
If the vehicle is on a downhill slope,
engage reverse gear or set the selec-
tor lever to P before switching off the
ignition. Turn the front wheels
towards the kerb.
n
Lock the vehicle and activate the
anti-theft alarm system.
