you wish to view the current broadcast from the start, revert to live mode or switch to the current chan-

Timer recordings
With the help of the hard disk timer, you can record broadcasts on the integrated hard disk even when you
are away. Your receiver is also equipped with video recorder timers as well as channel switching timers.
In terms of their programming, these timers differ only in that the relevant type of timer is specified. In
Standby operation, the hard disk and video recorder timers are shown by a clock symbol on the display.
As described in this chapter, you can either program the timer manually or with the help of the EPG func-
tion.
1. Hard disk timer
This function can be used to switch your digital receiver on and off for the selected broadcast, in order to
record onto the hard disk when you are away. If the receiver was switched on by means of the hard disk
timer, this will be indicated by the message "_ PVR Timer" shown in the display. Some functions of the
remote control (e.g. Accessing the main menu) are not operational.
2. Video recorder timer
When you use a video recorder timer, your digital receiver will be switched on and off for the channel se-
lected, so that it may be recorded, e.g. on a video recorder, in your absence. If the receiver was switched
on by means of the video recorder timer, this will be indicated by the message "_ VCR Timer" shown in
the display. Some functions of the remote control are not operational.
Be careful to note that the relevant recorder must also be channeld.
3. Channel change timer
If your receiver is in normal operating mode, it will switch to the programmed channel at the time selected.
In contrast to the setting for a hard disk or video recorder timer, the remote controls remain fully function-
al, and the receiver will not be switched off at the end of the channel.
