Read all of these instructions through carefully before you start
work.
Turn off the computer and unplug all power cords. Take suitable
anti-static precautions and remove the system cover. See the section
on "Anti-static precautions" in the Safety & Regulatory Notices at the
beginning of this manual for advice on how to avoid damaging your
computer with static electricity.
Leave the DIMM in the antistatic packaging until the last possible
moment and when you do take the DIMM out of its packaging,
hold it by its ends and avoid touching the metal contacts.
Follow the diagrams and simple instructions on the following pages
to insert each DIMM. It will vary slightly depending on what type
of sockets are fitted on the motherboard.
After you have added more memory, the computer may not at first
recognise the new configuration. Start the BIOS Setup utility, go to
the Advanced menu and change the Reset Configuration Data item
to "Yes", then restart the computer.
However, after fitting any memory upgrade, an error message
should occur, check that you have:

Correctly fitted the DIMMs in their slots.

Installed DIMMs of the correct type.
It may be necessary to refit the original memory to check if there is
a problem with your new modules.
