VinylJet 36 Printer Quick Start Guide
To connect your computer directly to your printer

Attach an IEEE 1284 parallel cable from the parallel port on your computer
to the parallel port on the printer.
Network configuration
An optional network configuration is available. Refer to the documentation that
accompmanies the print server for installation instructions.
Installing and configuring your print server
Your print server connects to the parallel port on the back of the printer. A
bracket is included to provide protection for the print while it's connected to the
parallel port. Refer to the instructions included with the bracket for installing the
print server bracket. Refer to the instructions included with your print server for
installing and configuring the print server.
Installing software
Your printer comes with Windows drivers, EFPU, and a trial version RIP. To
install the software, insert the CD into your computer and follow the prompts.
Pausing the printer
To pause the printer while printing, press Pause on the main menu. Press it again
to resume printing.
Note: Pausing a print may cause printing defects.

Making a test print

The CD included with your system contains sample images. After installing the
software, try printing one of the images.

Continuous printing

Because of the heated platen and IR lamp used to cure the printed vinyl, it is
strongly recommended that you not leave the printer unattended while it is
printing. Although it is not necessary to constantly monitor the printing process,
it's a good idea to check on it occassionally. As the media cures, you may notice
vapor rising from it. This is a normal part of the curing process.
