hitch pin end and pulling it out the other. The eyelid assembly and
solenoid plunger are connected in the DH5110 printhead.
Caution: Because the printhead charge leads and orifice plate are very fragile
components, read steps 6 and 7 thoroughly before attempting to perform
the described procedures.
6. Saturate a K
from the replenisher bottle.
Note: Use only fresh replenisher to wet the swab. Cotton swabs must not be
used to swab printhead components; small-tipped swabs can be used.
7. Lightly press the corner of the swab into the charge leads and orifice
plate corner and gently drag the swab back and forth over the charge
leads and orifice plate; repeat this swabbing motion two or three
times using both sides of the swab.
Caution: To avoid damaging the orifice plate or charge leads, do not scrub the
printhead with the swab or drag the swab past the ends of the orifice
plate.
8. Re-install the eyelid assembly as described in the following
procedure:
c. Set eyelid springs into holes inside the printhead frame.
d. Align the pin holes and slide the eyelid pivot shaft through the
printhead eyelid mounting brackets and the printhead. Secure the
eyelid with the hitch pin in the eyelid pivot shaft.
e. Push on the eyelid arm to manually open and close the eyelid to
verify that the eyelid has been installed correctly. The eyelid
should move freely.
9. Reinstall the printhead front cover as described in the following
procedure:
a. Position the printhead front cover on the printhead housing
assembly by squeezing the printhead rear cover at the area of
overlap.
b. Secure the printhead front cover to the printhead housing assem-
bly by tightening the captive screw.
