Periodic maintenance consists of cleaning the air filter and replacing the
mist filter. The frequency at which these two tasks are performed depends
on the amount of dust in the printer environment.

Cleaning the Air Filter

Remove and clean the air filter, mounted on the back of the printer when it
appears dirty. Perform the following steps to clean the filter:
1. Grasp the sides of the air filter and press down to free the top of the
air filter from the upper bracket; lift the air filter out of the bottom
bracket (Figure 4.3).

2. Rinse the air filter in tap water, shaking out the excess water.
3. Air dry or use compressed air to dry the air filter.
4. When the air filter is completely dry, seat the bottom edge of the filter
in the lower bracket and press down on the upper edge of the air filter
until it slips under the upper bracket.
