2. Safety instructions
The local building and fire safety regulations must be observed.
WARNING: This unit is regularly not equipped with a device to control the room temperature. The
heater must not be used in small spaces that are inhabited by people who cannot independently
leave the room, unless constant supervision is ensured.
1. The HEATSCOPE® ZERO must be fitted with an allpole ON/OFF switch (not included in scope of
delivery). You can likewise operate the radiant heater using a radio receiver and a remote control,
which are available as optional accessories. Connection to a residual current circuit breaker and
fuse is necessary.
2. The device is equipped with reversible overheating protection. If the overheating protection is
triggered, it automatically powers on the device again after a certain cooling time.
3. The unit may only be operated in principle with an approved disconnecting device. The heater
is equipped as standard for electrical connection with a separate open cable without a plug. A
connection cable with safety plug (Schuko) is sold separately as an accessory.
4. The unit must be securely mounted and connected to the main power supply by a qualified
electrician in accordance with the applicable standards and regulations for electrical wiring in the
electrical trade in the respective country of installation.
5. The heater may not be placed immediately below a socket outlet. A safety clearance of at least
10cm to the next power source must be guaranteed from the long sides.
6. Under VDE 0100, Part 701, the radiant heater may only be installed in area 3 in installation
rooms with high humidity (bath, spa, pool, etc.). If the HEATSCOPE® ZERO is installed in such an
environment with high humidity, the switches or other operating units must be installed such that
they cannot be touched by persons who are in direct contact with water.
7. Once the device is connected to a power source or powered by an „ON" switch or other ope-
rating option, it takes about 10 minutes for the radiant heater to reach the optimum operating
temperature.
8. The front side of the heater can reach a temperature of up to 700°F / 380°C under ideal condi-
tions, depending on the room situation and environmental conditions. Do not touch any part of the
heater during operation and up to 60 minutes after it has been switched off.
9. Use caution when operating the unit. This unit is not intended for use by persons (including
children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities or lack of experience and/or knowledge,
unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety or have received instruction
from them on how to operate/use the device.
10. Make sure that no cables or furniture, flammable materials or other items come in contact
with the surface of the radiant heater and never cover the unit. The unit must not be covered with
insulating materials or similar materials under any circumstances.
11. The unit must never be operated unattended. Children should always be supervised to ensure
that they do not play with the device.
