Operational Problem

1. If the meter does not display a message after inserting a test strip:
PROBABLE CAUSE
Battery exhausted.
Battery incorrectly installed
or absent.
Test strip inserted upside
down or incompletely.
Defective meter.
2. If the test does not start after applying the sample:
PROBABLE CAUSE
Insufficient blood sample.
Defective test strip.
Sample applied after auto-
matic shutdown (3 minutes
after last user action).
Defective meter.

Replace the battery.
Check that the battery is correctly
installed.
Insert the test strip face up with the con-
tact bars end first.
