Next, use a clip wire and short the two (2) wires together at the far end of the cable, away from the ohmmeter. You
should now see almost no resistance on your ohmmeter. If you continue to see a very high resistance, one or both
of the wires have been cut somewhere along the cable run.
Try to determine the location of any cuts or shorts in the cable. Shorts can be repaired with electrical tape, and cuts
can usually be spliced. If it is difficult to determine where a cable malfunction is located, it may be best to run a
new cable.

This section outlines the enhancements that are available with Revision N of the Model 4720.

Sprinkler Supervisory Zone Type

25.1
With Revision N of the Model 4720, the sprinkler supervisory zone type replaces the gas zone type. Figure
25.1a and the chart below show how to wire and program sprinkler supervisory zones.
With Revision J of the Model 4724-2 control chip and Revision C of the Model 4734-2 control chip, the
sprinkler supervisory zone type is now available.
If the Model 5520 Desktop Programmer or the Model 5540 Downloading Software you are using still
shows GAS for the "SUPERVISORY" zone type, you can change these display messages. (Do not change
the display unless you are working with a 4720, Revision N or later board.)
1. Enter System Messages menu.
2. Locate message for "LOW BATTERY" and change to "SUPERVISORY".
3. Locate message for "GAS" and change to "SUPERVISORY".
Note: Both Steps 2 and 3 are necessary.
