Model 4115 Serial Zone Expander

The Model 4115 is a UL Listed 2-wire serial zone expander for the Model 4720/4724 Control/
Communicator that allows up to 64 switches to be connected on a single pair of wires.
The 12/91 Regency binder update contained a preliminary version of the documentation for the Model
4115. That documentation is now contained in a separate Model 4115 Installation Manual (P/N 150648)
which is shipped with the Model 4115.

Model 4125 Zone Expander

The Model 4125 is a multiplexed zone expander that can add up to 64 expansion zones to the Model 4720.
In any one zone, all contacts must be either normally open or normally closed. The Model 4125 is mounted
in a separate cabinet not exceeding three (3) ft. from the main control unit. The connection must be made in
conduit.
The 4125 provides 64 inputs and 32 outputs for connection of up to 64 zones. For each pair of input screws,
the two (2) input screws share the output screw (labeled COM) located between them.
Once the Model 4125 cabinet has been mounted near the Model 4720, connect one end of the 12-wire
conductor to the "XBUS" of the Model 4720. Connect the other end of the cable to the 12-pin connector on
the Model 4125.
Note: If another model is used that has an unused 12-pin expansion connector, the Model 4125 may be connected
to the unused location.

12.3.1
There are three possible ways to wire the zones on the Model 4125. Figure 12.3.1a shows the three
basic configurations (normally open, normally closed, and normally open Supervised).
Note: For UL Fire installations, each zone loop must be wired using 18-gauge wire (or larger). For UL
Burglary installations, wire must be 22-gauge (or larger). Maximum wire length is 1000 feet.
