Setting ID Codes

7.4
When installing the system, set the ID number for each touchpad according to the following procedure:
1. Apply power.
2. Press 0, 0, TEST (before pressing any other key sequence).
3. The display will read KEY ID=NN, BEEP=1 (NN represents the current ID number. BEEP=1
indicates that the miniature speakers in the touchpads have been enabled.)
The beep enable can be toggled by pressing MUTE. When Beep = 0, entry, exit, and trouble beeps will
not be heard at that touchpad.
Note: Key beeps will be heard at the touchpad, regardless of the Beep = 0 option.
4. Enter the new ID number, 01...15, then press TEST.
5. If there is more than one touchpad, repeat from Step 1 or 2 for each touchpad in the system, using a
different sequential ID number for each touchpad.
6. Remove power from the system by unplugging the transformer and disconnecting at least one battery
cable. You must do this before you test the touchpad.

Mounting the Model 4203

7.5.1
The SlimLine design of the Model 4203 allows it to be mounted on the door jamb between the
screen door and the entry door. After connecting the wires, place the insulating material behind the
touchpad. Using the screws provided, screw the touchpad to the door jamb. If the touchpad is to be
mounted on a metal surface, it will be necessary to drill two (2) pilot holes before fastening the
station to the jamb.

use of these zones for alarms.
Note: The Model 4203 Touchpad requires control chip Revision B or later.
The Model 4203 is provided with a 6-wire pigtail for connection to the Model 4720. Figure 7.5.2a
shows how to wire the Model 4203 touchpad to the Model 4720.
The Model 4203 is also provided with a separate four (4) conductor pigtail cable. This cable is only
needed when connecting the Model 4203 to the Model 2820 (see Model 2820 Installation Manual,
