7. All unused knockout holes must be plugged using bolts and washers (available from ITI, Model
7600, six sets per package). To do this, follow the directions below (see Figure 2.3.5a):
Note: The smallest washer should be placed on the inside of the hole in the cabinet.
8. Four pan head screws #8 × 3'', type AB (thread-forming tapping screws) must be placed in the
Model 4720 cabinet cover to increase the panel's resistance to attack.
WARNING: Because of the tamper switch on the Model 4720 cabinet, an alarm will occur when installing the
battery, since the door must be open when power is applied. There are two (2) ways of dealing with
this:
1. Let the alarm occur, then close and lock the cover. Go to a touchpad and press MUTE, MUTE,
then enter your code to reset the alarm. To reset the dialer, press 3, TEST code. Finally, to set the
time, press 9, TEST code.
2. Before connecting the battery, close the cover, then connect the 9220 transformer. Go to a
touchpad and set the time (or press MUTE, MUTE), then press 2, TEST code. The LCD will
display WALK TEST. In this mode, reporting is disabled, and you may open the Model 4720
cabinet and connect the battery. After closing the cover, press MUTE, MUTE, MUTE to resume
normal operation.
Note: During a Walk Test, the system will not respond to real fire alarms.
1. Remove all unused knockouts.
2. Install the carriage bolt and three washers as shown in the diagram below.
3. Firmly tighten the wing nut.
