This product features two operation modes: the
3-way network mode (NW) and the standard
mode (STD).
You
can switch between modes
as desired. Initially, the DSP setting is set to the
standard mode (SKI). (Refer to "Switching the
DSP setting mode" on page 7.)
0 The 3-way network mode (NW) lets you cre-
ate of a 3-way multi-amp, multi-speaker sys-
tem with separate speakers for reproduction
of high, middle and low frequencies (bands),
each driven by a dedicated power amp. The
3-way network mode provides network and
time alignment functions, two functions essen-
tial for a multi-amp, multi-speaker system, to
enable precise control over settings for each
frequency range.
0 The standard mode (STD) lets you create a rb-
speaker system with front and rear speakers,
or a 6speaker system with front and rear
speakers and subwoofers. The standard
mode provides a sound field control function
offering an easy way to recreate realistic
sound fields in your car.
61 When no power is supplied to this product because
of an exchange of the car battery or similar, the
microcomputer of this product is returned to its ini-
tial condition, If this happens, all memorized adjust-
ed audio settings are erased. When you have com-
pleted audio setting adjustment, be sure to record
the settings on page 64.
0 You cannot use the auio-equalizing function when
"NW" mode has been selected.
This manual uses the following marks to make
the description clear.
: This mark indicates a function only in
NW mode or an operation in I\IW mode.
: This mark indicates a function available
only in STD mode or an operation in
STD mode.
e The functions and operations which do not
carry either mark are commonly used in the
RIW and STD modes.
