6.1 Overview

This chapter describes how you can upload new firmware, manage your configuration, set up
the NXC-8160's time, and restart or apply changes to your NXC-8160.

6.1.1 What You Can Do in This Chapter

• The Apply screen lets you globally apply any changes made on the other screens in the
NXC-8160 web configurator

6.1.2 What You Need to Know

The following terms and concepts may help as you read through this chapter.
NTP
NTP stands for Network Time Protocol. It is employed by devices connected to the Internet in
order to obtain a precise time setting from an official time server. These time servers are
accurate to within 200 microseconds.
Firmware
Firmware is a program embedded directly on a piece of hardware. It controls the NXC-8160,
and can be upgraded although the process is quite different from upgrading normal software.
