the helmet. Modifying the retention system weakens it,
increasing the likelihood of snapping during impact.
Removing parts such as the mouth guard or rubber face
molding can expose edges that may injure you in an
accident. Always use approved Schuberth parts when
replacing shields, screws, or any other parts. A weakened
helmet will not provide head protection.
Warning:
Do not repaint the helmet!
Repainting of your helmet is not recommended. Certain types
of paint and thinner can damage the helmet and reduce its
ability to provide head protection in an accident.
Warning:
Avoid direct contact with aggressive substances!
The direct effect of motor fuels, thinners or solvents can
destroy the structure of the inner and outer shell. Make sure
the helmet does not come into contact with such substances,
even for cleaning purposes!
Warning:
Clean your helmet carefully!
For cleaning instructions see section H.1. (maintenance and
care – outer helmet shell) of this manual.
Caution:
Do not carry the helmet on the motorcycle's helmet storage
lock while riding in order to avoid exhaust pipe burns, tire
abrasion, and strap damage to the helmet.

2. SAFETY ADVICE CONCERNING THE FACESHIELD / SUN VISOR

Warning:
Keep your helmet (faceshield and sun visor) in good
condition!
If your faceshield or sun visor become too scratched or

an accident resulting in serious personal injury or death.
Warning:
Remove protective film before using the helmet!
The protective film fastened to the faceshield to protect it
from scratches in transit must be removed before use.
Warning:
Keep the helmet away from aggressive substances.
Motor fuel and solvent vapor can cause the faceshield and
sun visor to crack. Keep the faceshield and sun visor away
from such vapors and do not allow kinds of substances to
come into direct contact with the faceshield or sun visor!
For that reason, never place the helmet on the tank of your
motorcycle.
