The Avaya 3900 Series Digital Deskphone sets communicate with the Meridian SL-100 switch through digital transmission over standard twisted-pair wiring. The five models of the Avaya 3900 Series Digital Deskphones include the 3901, 3902, 3903, 3904, and 3905. Each of the Avaya 3900 Series Digital Deskphone sets have specific characteristics and support features using the following keys: •...
The programmable line/feature keys (self-labeled) are located at the left and right sides of the upper section of the display area on the Avaya 3903 , 3904, and 3905 Digital Deskphones. The user changes the LCD label of these keys (except the primary directory number key) to meet their business needs.
Context-sensitive soft keys Context-sensitive soft keys The Avaya 3903, 3904, and 3905 Digital Deskphones have four soft keys directly below the display. Only the features that are configured for the telephone set display on the soft labels above the keys. For example, features like transfer and conference can be accessed during a call, but not Forward because that feature is not needed during a call.
Avaya 3900 Series Digital Deskphone general description One-button feature access keys Avaya 3900 Series Digital Deskphone Release 3 firmware and MSL15 or later software introduces the following enhancements for Personal Directory, Corporate Directory, Call Log, and Redial List: • The user can press the Directory/Log key and start a directory search through the dial pad without pressing the Select soft key.

The Avaya 3903 Digital Deskphone set uses password reset for the call log/redial fixed feature key. The call log/redial key allows access to the call log and the Redial List.

The handset can be added to the Avaya 3905 Digital Deskphone by removing the front plate of the telephone. A handset kit is available for the Avaya 3905 Digital Deskphone. The handset connects to the handset jack.
The MEARI requires an Accessory Connection Module (ACM). MEARI connects to any Avaya 3900 Digital Deskphone , except the Avaya 3901 which has no accessory dock. In order to use the MEARI accessory, the telephone must be equipped with the Avaya 3900 series ACM and power supply (purchased separately).
The MEARI does not require any software or system configuration. Install the MEARI in the small dock of an Avaya 3902, 3903, 3904, or 3905 Series Digital Deskphone. There are three output connectors on the back of the MEARI cartridge. There is no need to disconnect the power supply from the telephone prior to insertion or extraction of the MEARI cartridge.

DBA key assignments to the set. The DBA firmware handles the self-key labeling. The self-key label can be up to 10 characters in length. Only one DBA can be added onto a either an Avaya 3904 or Avaya 3905 set only. You cannot combine a DBA with a KBA.
Enter names and numbers into a personal directory file on a PC. Download the file directly from the PC to the Avaya 3904 or 3905 Digital Deskphone. Upload a directory from the Avaya 3904 or 3905 set to a PC to modify the directory.
The telephone wall mount bracket kit contains a one-piece wall mount plate that attaches the Avaya 3903, 3904, and 3905 Digital Deskphoneto the wall. The wall mount kit is available from your local Avaya representative. The Avaya 3901 and 3902 have built-in wall mount brackets.

Through this tool, Avaya 3900 firmware loads can be downloaded to one Avaya 3900 series Digital Deskphones or to all Avaya 3900 terminals of the same type on an EIPE. The same can be done for multiple EIPEs. The transfer and downloads of firmware to a single or multiple EIPEs can be scheduled to execute at a later time.
