Chapter 2 Preparations
1.16.1 Installation
Take the steps below to install fan unit.
(1)
Installing additional fan when installing additional processor (CPU).
Refer to Chapter 2 (1.3 Overview of Installation and Removal) for preparations.

Pull out thedummy fan.

Locate the slot to install an additional fan.
4.
Insert the fan unit straight into the additional fan slot until it locks with clicking sound.

Installing additional fan when configuring redundant fan system.
Refer to Chapter 2 (1.3 Overview of Installation and Removal) for preparations.

Locate the slot to install an additional fan.
With 2.5-inch disk drive model:
In 1-CPU configuration: Install redundant fan units in slots FAN 1F to 3F, and 5F.
In 2-CPU configuration: Install redundant fan units in slots FAN 1F to 5F.

Insert the fan unit straight into the additional fan slot until it locks with clicking sound.
Important Keep the fan cover for future use.
